About PAL
Who we are and why we fight
Who We Are
Pune Animal Liberation (PAL) is a grassroots animal rights organisation based in Pune, India. We are a collective of activists, educators, and advocates united by a shared belief: animals are not resources. They are sentient beings who deserve freedom from exploitation.
What We Believe
We hold that the exploitation of animals — whether for food, clothing, entertainment, or experimentation — is morally unjustifiable. We advocate for a vegan world where no animal is raised, used, or killed for human ends.
Our activism is grounded in the principles of animal liberation, as articulated by philosophers like Peter Singer and Tom Regan. We believe in the moral equality of all sentient life.
What We Do
PAL organises outreach events, vigils, leafleting campaigns, educational workshops, and community discussions across Pune. We produce content — articles, videos, and resources — to help people understand the reality of animal agriculture and the case for veganism.
Our Values
We are committed to:
- Non-violence and peaceful activism
- Radical compassion for all sentient beings
- Intersectionality — recognising the connections between animal liberation and other social justice movements
- Evidence-based advocacy
- Building an inclusive, welcoming activist community
